Defrosting procedure
Refrigerator Compartment
The exclusive "auto defrost system" of Orient Refrigerator ensures defrosting of the refrigerator compartment automatically. The water is drained out in the water collector pan fixed near the compressor. Then the water goes to the water tray at the base of the refrigerator which should be drained from time to time to avoid any overflow of the excess water.
In rainy season, high humidity tends to make a thick layer of frost on the refrigerator's evaporator plate which may cause poor cooling in the compartment. Unplug the refrigerator and remove power cord from the power point, leave the freezer door open for defrosting and wait until! the frozen food can easily be separated. You can remove frost manually in these conditions.
Freezer Compartment
When defrosting the freezer compartment, follow the instructions given below:
Remove the frost from the freezer compartment when its thickness is about 10 mm.
Remove all frozen food, ice cube sets and shelves from the freezer compartment.
When the frost has melted/removed, clean the compartment with a soft dry cloth.
Close the freezer door and let it run for about 1 hour before reloading the food in it.
CAUTION: Never use knife or metal instruments to remove frost/ice from the freezer compartment.
NOTE: Complete defrosting is recommended after 6 weeks or when required.
